Effingham Hospital's Emergency Department provides 24/7 physician and registered nurse coverage; making advanced cardiac life support available to residents when every second counts and life hangs in the balance. The county has grown into a suburb of Savannah, but only a few years ago it was still considered rural. The hospital is proud to boast the first chest pain center designated in a rural district, patterned after Dr. Raymond Barr's Baltimore, Maryland facility. The list of lives saved here continues to grow.
